About Keto Kine GrindsAloha! My name is Crystal Watanabe, wife and mom to three living in Honolulu, Hawaii. I started Keto Kine Grinds in February 2018, after eating ketogenic for about a month.

Eating keto while living in Hawaii presents a unique challenge since the islands are considered the melting pot of the Pacific. I grew up eating foods from a wide variety of cultures, and each of these cultures came with their own delicious carb-ridden dishes. As a result, doing without all of these foods has proven to be a real challenge, but it’s one that I’m taking very seriously.

While I am the coauthor of two cute bento cookbooks, Yum-Yum Bento Box and Yum-Yum Bento All Year Round, I’m still just a home cook, and I’m not a nutritionist or a dietician. What you find on this blog are my own thoughts and findings on eating keto, and as always, should you have questions on how this could affect your body, you should consult your physician.
